MTC Appoints Vice President and Chief People Officer

Marine Terminals Corp. (MTC), leading West Coast contract stevedore and terminal operating company, announced Arthur J. Reimers has assumed the position of MTC vice president and chief people officer.

Reimers has more than 30 years of experience as a human resources executive with companies such as Bank of America and American President Lines. Additionally, he served as vice president of technical training for American Airlines and founded three human resources software companies.

Based in MTC's Oakland corporate office, Reimers is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of all human resource activities and reports to directly to MTCH President/CEO Douglas Tilden.

Tilden cited Reimers' experience developing IT-based systems for streamlining HR processes as an important asset in this critical position and an indication of the continuing importance placed on MTC's success of its "People, Process and Technology" core competencies.
