Eyler to the newly created position of vice president Coast Wide Operations, General Stevedoring Division. Eyler brings 25 years of wide-ranging industry experience to MTC. He held management positions with Tropical Shipping, Military Traffic Management Command, Clark Maryland Terminals, Ceres Marine Terminals, and Transcom Terminals. In his new position at MTC, Eyler is in charge of West Coast operations for the general stevedoring division and reports to Don Wylie, the divisions executive vice president. A graduate of SUNY Maritime College with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology and oceanography, Eyler earned a U.S. Coast Guard Third Mates license in 1974 and holds numerous AAPA Professional Port Manager Program certificates. Oakland-headquartered Marine Terminals Corp., a family-owned contract stevedore and terminal operating company, has served the U.S. West Coast shipping community since 1931 and the U.S. East Coast since 2001. Combined, MTC has stevedoring and terminal operations in more than 26 West Coast locations and five East Coast ports. The company handles more than six million TEUs per year in addition to providing a comprehensive network of stevedoring, terminal operations and related cargo-handling services for automobiles, refrigerated commodities, steel, forest products, general cargo, bulk, rolling stock, yachts, heavy lifts, military and special projects.
