MTCH Celebrates Grand Opening of MTC de Mexico's Mexico City Office

MTC Holdings (MTCH) is celebrating the grand opening of its MTC de Mexico's Mexico City
office on March 2, 2006.

The formation of MTC de Mexico with two offices in the country is in response to
growing shipper demands for increased capacity in the North American market.

MTCH President and CEO Doug Tilden spoke about the company's commitment to expand
its service offerings into Mexico to meet its customers' needs for expanded terminal
services in region.

"MTCH is poised to add its commercial alliances, financial strength and operating
abilities for the benefit of our customers and the international shipping community as
Mexico invests and creates stronger port, highway and rail infrastructure," Tilden said.

The MTC de Mexico offices in Sante Fe (Mexico City) and Tijuana are headed by MTC
de Mexico Director General Miguel Favela.

MTC Holdings' business units include Oakland-headquartered Marine Terminals Corp.,
serving the U.S. West Coast since 1931, and MTC East, serving the U.S. East Coast since
2001. Combined, MTC has stevedoring and terminal operations in more than 26 West Coast
locations and five East Coast ports, handles more than six million TEUs annually and
provides a comprehensive network of related cargo-handling services for automobiles,
refrigerated commodities, steel, forest products, general cargo, bulk, rolling stock,
military and special projects. MTC's services are enhanced and expanded through affiliates
that specialize in insurance, warehousing, equipment, M&R, and software development, and
joint ventures with major ocean carriers.
