Marine Terminals Corporation Wins Top PMA Safety Awards

At the
Pacific Maritime Association’s 58th Annual Safety Awards Banquet, Marine
Terminals Corp. received several awards for its achievements in
workplace safety, including the First Place Coast Award Group A
Stevedore for its Southern California operations.
Additionally, MTC’s Los Angeles/Long Beach stevedore operations won the
1st Place So. Calif. Area Award for Group A Stevedore and an
award for Reduction in Injury Rate.
In the Washington PMA area, MTC’s container operations in Puget Sound
received 2nd Place Group B Container Operator Lowest Injury Rate.
In the Pacific Northwest Area, MTC’s Portland container operations was
recognized with 2nd Place Group C Container Operator Lowest Injury
Rate – Coast Level and a Reduction in Injury Rate Award.
Also in the Pacific Northwest area, MTC in Vancouver received 2nd
Place Group B Stevedore Lowest Injury Rate – Area Level.
MTC in the Northern California Area was recognized with an award for
Reduction in Injury Rate.
MTC Exec. VP Operations Dave Adam commented on MTC’s overall
accomplishments.
“Safety has always been a top priority in all MTC’s operations, as
demonstrated through the ISO registration of all regional safety
departments,” Adam said. “However, we know these achievements represent
a group effort that could not have been accomplished without the
tremendous support of our ILWU labor force.”
