Autos & RO/RO
For
import or export automobiles, rolling stock, machinery and other
assorted wheeled cargoes, Marine Terminals Corporation keeps things
rolling up and down the U.S. West Coast.
MTC
is known for award-winning damage-free autos operations. It is
not speed or productivity that is emphasized in the handling of
automobiles and expensive Ro Ro cargoes. Rather, customers measure
performance in terms of consistent, damage-free operations. MTC
is committed to moving customers cargo damage- and error-free.
Knowing
that even the smallest dent or scratch could result in expensive
losses, we have instituted on-going damage prevention and safety
training programs. We focus on quality management, precision planning,
special signage and traffic control, security, special lashing
procedures, shipboard traffic controls, qualified drivers, and
extensive post-operational reviews.
MTC
consults regularly with manufacturers and shipping lines to improve
stowing methods. MTC helped develop and introduce new lashing
procedures to further reduce shipboard damage.
Supervision
is also a key element in successful discharge operations. MTCs
professionals supervise every phase of unlashing, key car selection
and shipboard traffic direction to maximize productivity and guard
against any vehicle damage during unlashing and discharge procedures.
In
1999, MTC achieved coast-wide ISO 9002 certification of its auto
group. In so doing, MTC holds the distinction of being the first
stevedore and terminal auto operation so registered on the West
Coast. Always staying ahead of the curve, MTC has since upgraded
its registration to the more current ISO 9001-2000 standard.
