Departments at MTC
Operations
Operations is responsible for the day-to-day work activities including marine vessel work, terminal management, and all cargo handling at all terminal sites up and down the west coast.

Sales
Sales is responsible for developing and managing all customer relationships.

Finance
Finance is responsible for all corporate financial and administrative services, including accounting.

Human Resources
Human Resources is responsible for all staffing, compensation, benefits, and education and training systems for MTC.

Benefits
Our employees are important to us. Therefore, your benefits become available to you on the first day of the first complete month following your date of hire.

Health Plan. Your health is important to us, so MTC offers health coverage for you through your choice of HMO or PPO plans. MTC provides your health coverage at minimal cost to you and you may elect coverage for dependants by paying a share of the premium through pre-tax payroll deductions.

Dental Plan. MTC provides you with dental coverage for eligible preventive, basic, and major dental services. You and your enrolled dependents are covered when you enroll in MTC’s health coverage plan.

Vision Plan. Your enrollment in MTC's health coverage plan includes vision care for you and your enrolled dependents under the VSP.

Life & Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance. Because the unforeseen can happen, MTC provides company-paid term life, accidental death and dismemberment, and long-term disability insurance. The life insurance benefit is set to two times salary, and the LTD benefit is 60% of salary, up to a maximum of $6,000 per month. You may also purchase additional Supplemental Life Insurance at our groups rates.

Flexible Spending Account. Pay with pre-tax dollars for eligible out-of-pocket medical and dental expenses, childcare, and incapacitated parent care expenses. You may allocate pre-tax earnings into special reimbursement accounts to cover your deductibles, co-payments, and eligible non-covered services, such as orthodontia.

401(k) Saving Growth Plan. If you're at least 21, you become eligible for enrollment in the 401(k) plan and may contribute 1-15% of compensation per year period to a variety of Principal Financial Group mutual funds.

Education Assistance. MTC provides financial reimbursement for classes or courses and related expenses to qualified employees with 12 or more months of service for any undergraduate degree program.

Holidays. Our holiday observance schedule (10 scheduled and 2 floating holidays per year) creates a lot of 3-day weekend opportunities.

Vacations. Work and play... Recharge your batteries with vacation time. Depending upon length of service, you will enjoy 10 to 20 days per year.

Sick Leave. You'll accrue 12 days of sick leave each calendar year, up to a maximum of 720 hours (90 days).

Computer Purchasing Program. MTC offers interest-free loans of up to $5,000, depending on salary and length of service, for the purchase of a computer system for your own personal use.
