Terminals Corporation, founded by the Horsman/Redlich family in
1931 and headquartered in San Francisco, CA is one of the West Coast's
oldest contract stevedore and terminal operating
companies.
Marine
Terminals Corporation provides the shipping community with a comprehensive
network of stevedoring, terminal operating and related cargo handling
services for all types of cargo: A-Z, Apples to Zinc. From
the early days of general cargo to today's container megacarriers,
MTC remains a pace-setter in the industry.
On July 2, 2007, MTC Holdings became part of the AIG Global Investment Group through its acquisition by AIG Highstar Capital. Highstar has acquired two other industry-leading port companies: Ports America and AMPORTS. Combined, the three companies:
- Encompass 79 operations spread across the U.S. and Mexico.
- Constitute the sixth largest terminal operator in the world, with more than 12 million TEUs stevedored.
- Operate at every must-call port in the U.S.
- Provide a full range of port services, including:
- Container
- Ro/Ro
- Breakbulk/bulk
- Auto processing
- Specialty cargo
- Technology/Automation
- Rail yard operations
- Equipment procurement
- Off-dock yard operations
- Represent about 25 percent of the 2007 North American container market.
- Represent about 30 percent of the 2006 North American non-OEM auto processing volumes.
